NFL Maintains Neutrality on Affordable Care Act

The Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, stated that the NFL and other sport affiliates were keen to help the Obama administration educate the public on health care reform. However, Brian McCarthy, the NFL’s Vice President of Communication, received letters from members of Congress urging the NFL to remain uninvolved in order to maintain its nonpartisan reputation. Mr. McCarthy stated in an email that the NFL has no plans to work with the administration on this issue, and that the NFL has had no “substantive contact” with the administration about the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.  Read more here.
