Insurance Mandate for Large Employers Delayed Until 2015

The mandate for large employers to provide insurance coverage to employees under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been delayed one year (until 2015). The mandate for large employers will thus not go into effect until after the 2014 midterm elections. Most employer groups were satisfied by the delay, but others sent complaints to the Obama administration after the news was announced because individuals will still be required to have insurance by 2014 or pay a penalty.
